Resumo
El análisis de la relación entre las migraciones internacionales y los derechos humanos refleja la vulnerabilidad de los migrantes como sujetos de derechos humanos y laborales, expresada en una absoluta indefensión del migrante frente al Estado y la sociedad de acogida. El autor ejemplifica este hecho mediante dos fenómenos: a partir del proceso legislativo que tuvo lugar recientemente en Estados Unidos respecto a la política de inmigración así como del tratamiento que dieron al tema los medios de comunicación de ese país, y a partir de la situación de los inmigrantes centroamericanos en México. Concluye con la necesidad de aprobar nuevas normas internacionales que obliguen a los estados a informar sobre la situación de sus mercados de trabajo y sus demandas de fuerza de trabajo inmigrante, medida que favorecería una mejor acogida para los trabajadores inmigrantes.
