Abstract

Instruments of Social Networks Analyses (SNA) could be, somehow, used in migratory studies? One of the major objectives of this article is to better comprehend the dynamic of Campinas Metropolitan Area´s (CMA) migratory process, using for that a specific way, in this case, by sna methods. In these networks, the actors are, indeed, the cma municipalities. On the other hand, the interactions and relations among the actors or, to be more specific, among the municipalities are represented by their population flows. The major objectives of this paper are: a) to describe some of the structural properties of the intrametropolitan migration network; b) define which are the roles played by the municipalities over time; and c) if there were substantial modifications/transformations in the local and in the migration network.
