Abstract

The relationship between the international migration and the human rights reflects the vulnerability of the migrants’ human and working rights, as they are completely defenceless when facing with the State and the society of their new country. The author exemplifies this issue with the legislative process that took place recently in United States regarding the immigration policy as well as the way the media of that country covered the topic, and with the situation of the Central American immigrants in Mexico. He stresses the necessity of establishing new international norms that force the states to inform on the situation of their labour markets and their needs for immigrant workforce, a measure that would favour a better welcome for the immigrant workers.
