Abstract
This study explores the aging experiences of sexually diverse older adults in urban contexts of Colombia. Data were drawn from the project “Misión Colombia envejece: Una investigación viva” (2022-2023). A total of 60 participants aged over 60 years were included (32 in Bogotá and 28 in Cali) through six focus groups conducted by experienced qualitative researchers, using a non-directive approach to encourage open narratives. Data were analyzed through a thematic saturation model, supported by interpretative phenomenology and systematically organized with NVivo software. Findings were structured into four dimensions: aging experiences and access to health, social security, and employment; labor participation and social protection; cultural tensions and intergenerational dialogue; and the impact of stigmatization and discrimination. Results reveal life trajectories shaped by inequality, exclusion, and loneliness, but also by resilience, support networks, and agency. The study underscores the urgency of inclusive and intersectional public policies that recognize multiple identities and foster fairer and more effective interventions.
