Abstract
Nowadays there is a group of young people who are not independent from their family home or have a late independence process. In Brazil, they are known as young kangaroos. Mexico is not exempt from this phenomenon. The objectives of this article are to identify young people aged 25 to 34 years who prolong their independence from their family home, and to recognize the variables that influence this condition. The study is based on a binary logistic model that allows to identify the incidence of the variables (individual and familiar) on the odds of the probability of being or not a kangaroo. The Metropolitan Area of Mexico City is studied by using the 2015 Intercensal Survey.
