Resumen
A partir de muestras de microdatos censales, este artículo tiene como propósito examinar los niveles de homogamia educativa en seis países latinoamericanos: Brasil, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, México y Venezuela. Para evaluar los niveles de homogamia se recurrió a la técnica de análisis loglineal, incluyendo en los modelos algunas variables tradicionalmente asociadas con los altos niveles de desigualdad en la región: raza, etnia e inmigración. La evidencia presentada sugiere que: a) la tendencia a formar uniones homógamas es mayor en los extremos de la jerarquía educativa; b) esta tendencia varía en función del sexo y grupo de pertenencia de los individuos; y c) no existe un patrón de conducta específico entre poseer una mayor escolaridad y los niveles de uniones interétnicas o interraciales.
